Need help with Aegean Airlines website!
Aegean is having a sale which ends April 23rd. I tried to buy tickets tonight and got a message saying I must enter passenger details in latin characters! What do I do? Another message stated that WinBank cannot proceed with my request. I was told to call a # in Greece. I don't want to have to do that. Help! Thanks!

That has to be a computer glitch. I don't know what to tell you except to keep trying. Is this the website you're using?

Looking over a past posting of yours I see a proposed flight from Naxos to Athens. If that's what you're trying to book you can't do it on Aegean because they don't fly to Naxos. Only Olympic does.

Hi,
Latin characters just means using English, not Greek.
Don't know about your problem with WinBank - do you have another credit card you can use? I booked a flight with my American MasterCard on the Aegean website Sunday, with no problems. It did ask for an extra SecureCode, which I had to set up with my CC company. Perhaps that is the problem.

Thanks for your help! I am trying to book a flight from Chania to Thessaloniki, as I have changed my route. Yes, I know that Olympic flies to Naxos.
This a.m. I received a response from Aegean which stated that I should contact my credit card co. to confirm that I am trying to buy the tickets rather than it being a case of fraud.
Heimdall, thanks for confirming that Latin characters means using English! It did not make sense that an English website would suddenly expect me to know another language!
Thank you,
Marsh

Success at last! It was my cc co. blocking my purchase. After answering every security ? they could think of, I was told I could make the purchase!
I was afraid that I was going to miss the sale, but now all I need is a ticket from Athens to Naxos for Sept. 9, 2009. How soon should I buy that?
Fodors is my favorite web site! I really appreciate all of you who are willing to help others with our problems.
Many thanks!

Hi Marsh,
I'm glad the Aegean booking worked out for you.
For Athens-Naxos, if you are sure of the date, buy your tickets as soon as possible. They won't get any cheaper, and there is only one flight per day (1230) on a small turboprop, so seats can sell out quickly. Before you do, though, consider this: the 0725 Blue Star ferry arrives on Naxos earlier than the Olympic flight, so if you can make that ferry there is no real advantage in waiting for the flight.
