Need help w/ Spain itinerary late April - mid May

Repost:

My wife and I have booked FF air tx arriving in MAD the AM of Sat, 4/26 and departing 1PM Sun 5/11.
Tentative itinerary:
Madrid (with side trips to Toledo +/or Segovia) - 3 nights
4/29 - AVE train to Seville with 1/2 day stop in Cordoba
4/29 - 4/30 Seville
5/1 train or bus to Granada
5/2 - rent car and drive to Marbella where we will be staying in the Marriott timeshare. While in Marbella, take day trips to Ronda. Nerjas, ?Gibralter
5/9 - return car in Malaga and take AVE or fly to Madrid
5/10 Madrid or sidetrip
5/11 - return

How does this look? I am most uncertain as to the best way to fit in Seville and Granada or even weather to just do day trips there from Marbella.

Any comments will be appreciated.

-Madrid a a big city - if you re planing to see any of the museums you'll need more time than 3 ( 2 days) nights including day trips.( Segovia is 2 hours by train, Toledo 1/2 hour)

-You have only one day in beautiful Seville.

-train/bus to Granada and ????. it is 3 hours from Seville to Granada .How much time are you spending in Granada?

It depends on what you want to see and experience, but I agree with danon - you seem to be allowing yourself too little time in Madrid (even with the extra day at the end), Sevilla, and Granada. Hope that helps!

Danon adn kia - I wish I could take more time off work and extend the trip, but the dates are set, and I can't past up the "free" lodging in Marbella. With that in mind, are you suggesting not planning on leaving Madrid for Toledo, etc., while there and should I spend another night in Seville and visit Granada on a day trip from Marbella?

it depends on what you are interested in .
Perhaps you could wait until you get to Madrid and decide there if you have time for side trips.
On such a tight schedule you may wish to skip Cordoba and see more of Seville
I am not familiar with Malaga and Marbella, but to visit Alhambra ( if that is your reason for visiting Granada) you have to reserve the tickets ahead of time.

If you can, travel first class on the train. Spend some time in Seville, lots of history and things to see. Do Gibraltar when you have time to take the hydrofoil from Algecires, Spain to Tanger, Morocco. Mondays were not good days to go out to eat when I was in Valencia last June, a lot of places seem to be closed down. Have a great trip!

Hi again, fb -

If you can't extend your time in Madrid, Sevilla, or Granada, then I'd recommend that you spend a fair amount of time before your trip deciding upon your priorities so you can maximize your experience of these wonderful cities. Better to know and plan ahead!

Enjoy!
