Was wondering if anyone out there could help on this. Heading to Santorini in June and factoring in cost, location, amenities, view, quietness etc. have narrowed it down to Sun Rocks Apartments, Nikomos Villas and Volcano View Villas. I would appreciate any input on any of these. Thanks!

I only know the Chromata---it was a hoot. Some of the rooms have kitchens. Most don't. There's a grocery store up the hill, and the best wine on the island cost us $5. The view is of an inactive volcano. Fira is a 2 minute motorscooter ride from the hotel. To enter the hotel, you have to walk down about 100 steps---pity the poor bellhop. It has a pool, and a cool gathering place for breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed it, and would go back. Expect funky (in a good way). The article I read about it said "if Fred Flintstone had a lot of $$, he'd live here.<BR>In Fira, there's a funny restaurant called Mama's. There is a Mama, and she adopts all her guests. Great view. The fish tavernas on the island are wonderful---we went in the kitchen at each one, and picked out our fish, and told them how we wanted it cooked (generally over charcoal, w/garlic &amp; great olive oil).<BR>Have a great time.

Trust me, you did not have the best wine on the island for $5.00. Things are cheap, but cheap wine is cheap wine. There are really fine Greek wines. They are not $5.00 anywhere!!

SUN ROCKS SUN ROCKS SUN ROCKS!!! <BR> <BR>I went to Greece last August and we stayed at Sun Rocks and it was INCREDABLE!! One of the best hotels ever. The people were great - the view wonderful and the rooms large and clean with great patios looking out onto the ocean. Great place to watch the sunset!! PLus it's a short walk into town and there is a bus stop near the hotel.

Just FYI - Sun Rocks is now for couples only. No singles, and kids allowed.

well, Smart Alec is just that---a smart alec----'cause the wine WAS $5 a bottle at the grocery store, and it was just fine. But then again, you probably wouldn't like Rabbit Ridge red zin, 'cause it was only $11 here, and it's great too. Why do you hide behind phony email addresses???
