Need help on Athens to Delphi
Hi,
We are going to bite the bullet and hire a taxi ahead of time to drive from Athens to Delphi. We're being picked up at our Hotel Olympia. Any ideas how we could find a third person to make the trip a little cheaper or would 3 crowd one of those taxis?
We also want to know if stopping at the monastery is worth it or if we should just go ahead to the site where we really want to spend our time.
Thanks,
Jean

Thanks for replying Ky,
Yes, a bus is less money but I felt the rented taxi guy would give us lots of info and still leave us on our own. I have heard such bad things about those guided tours too -- that they give you so little time. What did you do to get to Delphi?

When I went to Delphi a few years ago, I joined a tour, but opted for a one-night stay at the Amalia Hotel there, and returned with the tour the next day.
It was wonderful as that gave us a lot of time to wander around both the historic sites and the town of Delphi, had a nice dinner in town, and enjoyed the hotel - it's not AC'ed, but very spacious and airy rooms, nice pool, view of the Corinthian Sea, etc...
Highly recommended.
