My fiance and I will be spending our honeymoon in a cruise ship. We will spend one night (middle of May) in Rome before we go back to the United States. I visited Rome around 25 years ago - so practically I don't remember much. Wanted to stay in a centric and nice hotel (upper scale 3 stars or if possible 4 stars) for a moderate price of $200/night. Anyone has a recommendation - I am totally lost and don't know where to start and what hotel to book. <BR>Thanks!

Good afternoon, GG <BR>Can recommend four hotels of which we <BR>have used from one to nine times since <BR>the late 70's <BR>All of these can be seen on www.venere.it or www.italyhotels.it/ <BR>The HOTEL FORUM, via Tor De Cointi, 25 is a four star hotel with 81 rooms located just across from the Roman Forum, has roof top garden ristorante. <BR>The HOTEL INTERNAZIONALE, via Sistina, 79 is a three star hotel with 37 rooms <BR>located just a half block down from the <BR>Trinita Di Monte, the top of the Spanish Steps, have used this one about <BR>nine times and only changed when we <BR>thought of up grading accomodations. <BR>The HOTEL DE LA VILLE, via Sistina, 69, <BR>is a four star hotel with 189 rooms. <BR>exceptional service and older accomodations. Located next door to the <BR>Internazionale... <BR>The GRAND HOTEL PLAZA, via Corso is a <BR>very good but older hotel and located <BR>at the Corso at the Condotti at the <BR>bottom of the Spanish Steps. Busy <BR>area.. Eileen: No, I haven't stayed there but I've booked the hotel for many clients. I also stopped by to see it 2 years ago while in Rome and it is quite lovely. You can't go wrong with either hotel!

Have any of you stayed or heard of The Hotel Pantheon. I have reservations there for May. www.venere.comm has it as a four star and the people were extremely friendly. It is right next to the Pantheon (obvious)but I would love any first hand feedback. Thanks.

Hello! <BR> <BR>I am the poster child for the Hotel Due Torri so i must reccommend it! It in a great location near the Piazza Navona, it has a great stsff and a lot of Italian atmosphere. I agree with Richard on the Due Torri. The staff there were so nice and helpful to us on our last trip to Rome. They made our dinner reservations and always suggested restaurants that were excellent. The rooms are small but it is more like a home than any hotel I have ever stayed in anywhere. You'll love it. <BR>Congratulations on your upcoming marriage. <BR>Cecelia

Due Torri Fans (Yes, that's you Richard!!): Is the Due Torri a comfortable walking distance to the major sites (Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps...what about St. Peters's??) I'm thinking about staying there in June.

Hi CG, <BR> <BR> The Hotel Due Torri certainly has our vote. We stayed there in November and had a nice balcony. The hotel is well situated and the staff very helpful with reservation and information on the sites to see.
