Need help deciding on hotel

Need your help trying to decide on hotels in both Venice and Florence. I've done all my homework and narrowed it down to 2 in each city:

In Florence - either the Grand Hotel Villa Cora or Hotel Brunelleschi

In Venice - either Saturnia or Gabrielli

Also, in Rome - I've heard some good and bad about the Inn at the Spanish Steps - any other comments.

Thanks so much for your help.

You need to name the place in the title.

I stayed at the Saturnia in Venice in October,1999. Good restaurant, well located hotel. Most rooms were very good. Our's was, I think, the best one assigned to anyone in our tour group. No canal view (just a small court yard); but, what made it special was it was two levels. The bedroom was on the second level. A small seating area (with TV) and a huge bathroom were on the first level.
Staff was helpful.

Good evening, Michele
Have used the Saturnia three times since
1996 and we have been very satisified
with it and its ristorante La Caravella.
The web site for THE INN is www.atspanishsteps.com/
Cannot comment on the other hotels as
have not stayed at any of those.
Richard of LaGrange Park,m Il..
