I would assume you'll need to take a ferry over to Varenna and catch the train from there to Milan. Changing in Milan for a train to Verona and changing in verona for the train to Bolzano.

Depending on which train you take, i.e., if you take the approx 0730 departure from Varenna, the whole trip will take a little less than five hours. Other departures may take longer depending on connections.

Thank you very much, do you think any other option that I don't have to go back to Milan?

I cannot answer that question in terms of public transport although you might be able to get one of the lake ferries down to the city of Como and go on from there.

Perhaps someone else more knowledgeable than I am will see this and comment further.

Hi Ratiphan - The alternative route avoiding Milan is:
Varenna-Lecco-Bergamo-Brescia-Verona-Bolzano.

This is a bit slower but can be MUCH cheaper - especially if you avoid high-speed trains on the Brescia-Verona-Bolzano leg.

How to spend 2 days based in Bolzano? Don't miss a trip into the Dolomites for spectacular mountain scenery - Val Gardena or the Alpe di Siusi are your best options IMO. And then of course there's Oetzi in Bolzano itself ...

Hope this helps ...
