Need a little direction...
A friend of ours is a pilot for a major USA airline and has offered us his buddy passes to use to Europe. He suggested flying in and out of Paris because the airline has the most amount of flights to Paris from JFK than any other airline. We orginally wanted to visit Madrid and Barcelona however, the price of the buddy pass can't be beat.
So my question is... with 6 nights in Europe can we really visit Paris and Barcelona? If so, should we take a plane or train? Or should we consider travelling a bit in France? I have vistited Paris twice but this will be husband's first trip.
The other problem is since we are flying stand by I am nervous to make flight or overnight train reservations.
By the way, this trip is about 2 1/2 weeks away. Thanks for your help.

for me, with 6 nights I'd stay in Paris. you might contact several hotels to know availability and explain your situation without actually making a reservation. i don't think this time of year is high tourist season so wouldn't imagine you'd have a problem getting a room upon arrival.

Personally, and if you have never beemn before, I would spend the entire time in Paris. You'll find PLENTY to keep yourself occupied.
If you do decide to include Barcelona the best way to get there would be on a flight as by rail the trip can take as many as 12 hours or more. Airlines such as Easyjet fly to BCN from Paris (Orly as I recall).

Hi JB,
You have a free RT flight to Paris and you want to go somewhere else?
See www.whichbudget.com for cheap flights to Spain.
