On the last day of our vacations, we will be arriving to Istanbul from Cappadocia around noon, and then flying back to US next morning around 5:00 am. So, I am thinking to stay around airport on that night. Could you possibly recommend something decent around airport? Also, how much the cab ride from the airport to the center should cost? We still want to spend at least a few hours shopping in Istanbul on that day.
As always, I really appreciate your invaluable advice!

There is a new Holiday Inn near the airport, with free airport shuttle. No idea what a taxi would cost into the city.

Airport Hotel is just in the airport by the international terminal.
Taxi depending on the road driver choose may cost you little over 40 Lira.

A week ago Saturday, a taxi from near Taksim Square cost 50 YTL, about 25 Euros. It also took about 5 years off our life expectancy. It was absolutely terrifying. When next we go to Istanbul, in about 14 months, we will arrange for a car service at a current cost of about 30 Euros.

Depending on where you want to go shopping, it seems to me that you might want to consider getting a car and driver for the entire afternoon. The expense would, for me, be worth the peace of mind.

There is a hotel inside the airport complex, and that is always my choice for an early flight. The Holiday Inn airport shuttle may not run as early as you will want to leave the hotel. There is also the Renaissance Polat, about a 10 minute drive away from the airport.

I looked at the hotel inside airport, it looks a little more expensive that I would like to pay. Maybe it worth though.

How do I arrange the car service from the airport or the car with a driver for the afternoon? What agency should I try? Thank you!
