Name of car service in London?

There was a huge thread on here about a month or so ago about how to get to the airport early morning from London. I can't remember the name of the service and can't find it in a search. (Not even google with a fodor's Rome car service)
This was one that many people had recommended.
Help?

Not sure if this is what could be considered a car service but hotel link has been very satisfactory for me. A van with 6-8 people. Of course when I was picked up at my hotel at 4am, I was the only passenger. The link below will let you view hotel link as well as other services at heathrow. Mildred

One popular car service is Ray Skinner's. Can't recall the name of his company right now. Anyway, I tried several times last spring to get a price quote from him with no response to my emails. Maybe if you're doing a booking rather than an inquiry you'll get a better response.

I ended up calling Swiss Cottage Cars (the number I used was 44 207 431 2700) when I arrived in London, which worked out well. I'll probably be using them again next summer.

Last month we used justairports.com. Check the website, but if you want to book, give them a call because it's much quicker. Cash payment is much less expensive. We paid 33 BPS from airport to Waterloo, and 28 for the trip back. Prices differ depending on which area you're traveling to/from. Excellent service - I got the recommendation on this site.

To help others who may not have read down the list of questions as I didn't - this question was a mistake - Brahmama wants service from Rome. New post was started rather than being added to this one.

arewethereyet,
You're right - I did mean to say Rome in the Subject.

BUT!!!! We are also needing car service from Gatwick to London and then London to Stansted, so this thread will serve for those questions too!

Thanks for the Justairports.com - I'm giving them a try.

Be aware that there is a huge difference with JustAirports between paying cash and using a credit card!

Also be aware that most threads on here about car services are talking about LHR to/from London. Both Gatwick and Stansted would be a more expensive and take a lot longer by car than just hopping on the train.

We have used Ray Skinner a dozen times and never once had a problem.

www.london-transfers.com is the website. Prices are per car/van NOT per person, plus tip (you do need to tell Ray how many are in your party and approx. amount of luggage tho). I've recommended Ray alot of the years on this forum and to friends, and they have all been satisified.

I also know people on this forum have recommended "just for airports", you should be able to find them with a search.

We used justairports.com in August in London for 3 transfers and they worked out very well for us. Their prices were the cheapest. They are not uniformed drivers since they are independent and their cars are not the cleanest on the outside. But they were all station wagons and were clean inside. And the drivers were prompt and very friendly. Good luck!
