Nafplio/Untours
We are looking at the Untours trip that will place us in Nafplio for two weeks. I am wodering if that is a good place to take day trips from, and what would be the options of getting to Athens other than driving a car. Any other comments and experiences with Untours would be appreciated.
Thanks

We're leaving March 9 for the Greece Untour. I'm curious too. The Untours people have been very helpful, but I think we must be one of the first groups to go. I'd love to hear from anyone with experience in Nafplio.

Nafplio is "brand new" for Untours, but I can certainly vouch for the company: I've taken four trips with them and have never had a problem; they've been four of the best trips ever!
This company has amazing customer service and integrity; I just wish that their list of places was even longer. That their profits go toward developing businesses in developing countries makes the whole thing even better.

I was in Nafplio last summer and loved the city, there is plenty of shops and restaurants. If you are interested in beaches the area around Tolo is lovely but very developed. For day trips you can go to Epidavros, Tiryns and Mycennae (which I found a little disappointing). There is ferries that go to many of the Argo-Saronic islands like Poros. There used to be a ferry running from Nafplio to Athens although it was not last year maybe they will have it this year because of the Olympics.
