Must Have Phone Apps for Rome, Florence & Venice

Can anyone suggest any phone apps that they found helpful to have in Rome, Florence or Venice?

If you are at all into food & wine I'd recommend the EatRome app by Elizabeth Minchilli. I used it religiously during my week in Rome in March. She also authored the EatFlorence app, but I have not used that one, knowing Elizabeth and the quality of EatRome, I'm sure the Florence version would be excellent.

I really liked City Maps 2 Go. It allowed me to use a live map (with GPS) without using a data plan.

Also Rick Steve's audio tour (free) for several sites in all three cities.

Nice, the Fodors Rome app is a universal app.

But judging by the side, I would guess that it needs a connection to download content?

Some other travel city guide apps. are over a hundred megabytes so they seem to store content locally so that you can view them even when you don't have an Internet connection, which is a common situation for Americans traveling abroad.

I downloaded a few City Walks apps. which they have for many cities. Haven't tried them yet but will on my upcoming trip.

Thank you for all of your suggestions. I'm with scrb11, I would need to use apps that work offline. I don't want to worry about having to find free WIFI spots. I would only be able to use the apps that require internet connection at the hotels where I will get free WIFI.

Our apps work completely offline. No internet connection required. You can chose to download offline maps which add about 20MB to the app size.

Check them out here: http://www.fodors.com/mobile-apps/
