museum passes in Amsterdam
It looks as though The Museumkaart (60 euros) guidelines have changed. For tourists it is only good for 31 days instead of a year. This is not a problem but I guess that I can not purchase it in advance to get Anne Frank reservations or any other museums. They now offer a museum card for tourists $69. that can be purchased ahead online. It does not seem to cover as much as the other card. Does anyone have any info about either?

You can still reserve your Anne Frank tickets before you have your Museumkaart I believe.
Anne Frankhuis is only taking bookings until end of February at the moment by the way, due to work going on there.
Buy the Museumkaart at one of the smaller, quieter museums on your first day. It is good for all of the Netherlands which is useful for you given your plans.
They had to change the rules on the card due to AirBnB owners buying them and allowing those staying there to use them, thereby depriving the museums of valuable income. So now they are personal with a photo and you have to have a Dutch address to convert it into an annual card from the 31day card.

Van Gogh is €17, Rijks is €17.50, Anne Frank is €9, add a couple more museums and you have your money out of it.
It is still a great deal for residents of the Netherlands. Blame those who abused it for it being not such a great deal for visitors, and I don't only mean AirBnnB but others who would pass on their card multiple times.

So sorry to hear about the abuse. I think it sounds like a good value. I'd rather do that then the tourist one. I know that now you can only make reservations 2 months out for Anne Frank. so sound like I will be able to make the reservation w/o card. that doesn't make sense to me since I believe I will need to pay for it when reserving (2 months in advance)

tidy, when you use the "buy tickets" option, you get to a page, after choosing your slot, where you can indicate what kind of ticket you have.
Dutch Museum Pass is indicated with a price of €0.00. You choose your option, and add it to the shopping card and complete the booking.
When you get to the Anne Frank house you show your card and the booking print out.
