Munich to Baden Baden

What would be the least expensive rail system to take from Munich To Baden Baden?
Thanks,
Mike

You don't get to choose your rail system. There's only one for long-distance intercity trains in Germany - the government run Die Bahn.

hi there,
I'm not to familar with the trains, but there are a lot of different prices. Depends on how many people and how many days You book in front and so on. I remember there was a "happy-weekend-ticket ... Perhaps some other know better. Rex?

For rail schedules for Die Bahn, check the following website:

http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en

For information about the Lander-tickets, check this website:

http://www.bahn.de/pv/view/int_guest..._tickets.shtml

Lander-tickets are only good for travel within the state that you buy the ticket for (ie, Bayern, Baden-Wurttemberg). Travel is only valid for Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 am the following day, on local trains (RE, RB, IRE, S-Bahn) for groups up to 5 persons travelling together for 21-25 Euro.

To take advantage of the Lander tickets, you would need to buy one for the two states that you would be travelling through, and be sure to check the train schedules so you are only using local trains.

However, if you will be travelling on Saturday or Sunday, you can use the Happy-weekend ticket, which is good for travel through ALL the states, in groups of 5 for 30 Euro, and travel starts at 12:00 am until 3:00 am the next day. This website will give you additional information.

Hope this helps in your planning. Enjoy your journey...Peace.

While I am flattered by your thinking that I might know better, Gar - - I have never ridden ANY train in Germany.

Driving there is too delightful.

Best wishes,

Rex

If you travel in July or August, the Bahn is offering a "Special Summer Ticket" for any train, anytime, anywhere in Germany for 29 Euro, subject to availability.
