Munich on Sunday

Hi,
First timer to Europe, and we leave for Munich and Vienna in 30 days!
It appears I've timed my visit a bit poorly, as most of the Christmas markets won't yet have opened,
but I did find a few.
I had read somewhere that Sundays are pretty much shut down in the city.
Is that still accurate?
Also, are the Christmas markets open on Sundays? Trying to plan our final day in Munich
Thank you so much,
Tammy

Department stores, other shops, supermarkets, etc. are all closed on Sundays in Munich. Except for literally a handful of small convenience stores in railway stations or at the airport.
Restaurants, eateries, cafes, pubs etc. and all museums and sights are open.
Christmas markets will also be open on Sundays.
