Munich & Salzburg Christmas Markets:Prices? Pyramids?Nativity?Glass?
Has anyone been to the munich or Salzburgn markets? What things are at each?
I'm going to spend 2.5 days in Salzburg and in Munich on the 18th - 22nd.
I plan to visit the Christmas market in each. I tend to love to buy things, but I really want to make sure that I get the right things that are unique and special.
I really am interested in purchasing a Christmas Pyramid, but i wanted a colorful painted one. Has anyone walked the market in Munich (or Salzburg) and seen them? Will they be plentiful? Do you know what I should expect to pay? At gift shops they are $250 - $400 for the large ones. Are they any less in the market?
Do the markets Haggle? I don't want to find one in Slzb. and buy it fearing I won't find another, so if I can wait until Munich I'd like to wait. Will they be there? And how can I tell which are authentic?
Also, I'm interesting in getting creche/natvitiy pieces. If any of you are familiar wtih french "santon"s also found in belgian shops sometimes, but are made in the south of france, I love those. Will there be any figurines like that in the German markets? And are they uniquely german/austrian? Again - how much? authentic? Can i haggle?
I'd like to buy something unique to remember the trip that will be around my house for years to come. I want good quality not taky and i don't want to get ripped off.
What other items are in these markets? I've heard people talking about glass ornaments - is that a speciality to the region? IF so, what should I look for?
Thanks to everyone!

hristmas pyramid e Weihnachtspyramide (-n)
Originally from the Erzgebirge region of Germany, the wood or rope pyramid was the "poor man's Christmas tree." Today it is a popular Christmas decoration in many parts of Germany, usually made with candles and bells that ring as the heat from the candles turns a wooden rotor at the top.

Well, scratch "poor man's Christmas tree." It's nonsense.
Considering prices, remember they are handcrafted. And the companies that are listed on that website http://www.christkindl-markt.com/ are not small, family owned workshops which I buy from. These are semi-industrial with usually 200 employees and the stuff there can hardly be called 'handcrafted'. But these guys want to live also
