Check out the website for the Irish Farmhouse Bed & Breakfast Assn (www.irishfarmholidays.com). We stayed at several of these on our first trip to Ireland and found them wonderful. All are working farms, and the other guests were mostly Irish or other European, rather than lots of Americans. Rates are more than reasonable, and accommodations range from very basic to quite luxurious. I'm not sure what county Mullingar is in, but you can probably find something on the site. Another good source of B&Bs is the Town & Country Homes directory (www.townandountry.ie). Have fun!

Anne Marie,
I often visit friends near Mullingar Co. Westmeath Ireland and I would recommend Reynella House - it is a farmhouse with wonderful breakfast and a beautiful lake just in front of the house, lovely walks etc, it is about 10 miles outside Mullingar on the Delvin Road - Mgt Lynch (NO RELATION WHATSOEVER) is the person to contact. The telephone no. is 00-353-44-64137

Hope this helps,

Regards

Cathy

Thanks so much Harriett and Cathy. I'll
follow your advice and check out the sites you mentioned, Harriett.
I'll also call Reynella House to see if
they have a room an availability the night we scheduled to be there. Thanks
again for taking the time to respond to
my inquiry. Anne Marie

Hi Anne marie, Just got back from 2 week vacation and we stayed at a beautiful B&B in Mullingar called Mornington House. Its listed in the hidden houses of Ireland. The room was lovely, 4 poster bed with down comforter and the food excellent. We had dinner there one night and it was one of our most memorible meals. Gail
