Moulin rouge dinner show

Are the seats at Moulin Rouge better if you pay for the dinner option? My understanding is there are no assigned seats.
Many say the dinner option food is not worth the price. Since I believe you stay in the same seat for the 9 pm show if you have booked the 7 pm dinner-are these better seats, making it possibly a better deal than just booking the 9 pm show separately.
If the food is not worth the cost are there moderate priced restaurants near Moulin Rouge to dine at before the show?

I don't think you wil have better seats. When we went for dinner, we had first the full table for ourselves and were joined later by another couple for the show.
Food is OK, could be worse. I would recommend however this option. You are more in the festive mood for the whole evening.
