Moulin Rouge
This May we will be taking our 2nd trip to Paris!!! My husband wants to go to the Moulin Rouge. The tickets are so expensive especially with dinner. Is the dinner any good? (Stupid question for Paris) I could live without seeing the show but this is a treat for my husband who is so good to shop with me.
aj

aj

You know, I hesitate to interfere with your husband's plans, but if the real Parisian cabaret is what interests him (as opposed to girls in feathers), what you might want to do is have a wonderful dinner and then visit Au Lapin Agile on Montmartre, one of Paris's oldes cabarets in the "true" meaning of the word - neighborhood locals and well-known singers singing everything from war songs to Piaf. Personally, I'd let my husband go alone to the Moulin Rouge and save the money for shopping.

Is the show really not worth seeing? We have reservations there soon. We've seen the show at Crazy Horse and enjoyed it. We've seen the Lido show and didn't like it. I guess Moulin Rouge has just always been on "the list". I'm sure we'll keep the reservation, so I'll post a report upon our return.

We've been to Moulin Rouge and liked the show. Skip the dinner - just not worth it go to a good restaurant before or after the show instead. Show was good - some magic some acrobatics and famous cancan. We both enjoyed it. We dressed casual but nice - dress code is formal/casual nice.
