When we arrive in Paris, it will be our last three nights before departing home.
We would like a comfortable room with a true king size bed.

So far it is a tie between the Meurice and George V. The other amenities aren't bad either. The Meurice is the better location.

We slept in a Kingsize Extra Length bed
at the Holiday Inn Opera on rue deL'Echiquier off Blvd.Bonne Novelle in the 10th arr. Maybe not the most exciting location but it was our 8th trip to Paris and it was nice to go for "the room" not the touristy location this time.
We loved it! The room was so large we could swing 2 cats - the bathroom done out in beautiful Italian tiles. Usual mini-bar, safe, heated towel rack and complimentary shampoos etc.
Nice restaurant in the hotel with very good prices. Wide plush carpeted hallways with subdued modern lighting. Booked through Venere.com for 179euro.
No view (inside room)but we slept like babies!

While I am a big fan of hotels with character, and I'm often willing to put up with less comfort in exchange for more charm, there usually comes a point in a long trip where I find myself craving a night in a big, American-style bed even if that bed is located in a hotel that lacks charm. I have found that the most reliably comfortable beds all over the world in a reasonably affordable price range are found at regular Marriotts and their Renaissance Brand (Courtyard Marriotts are a bit more variable). Hiltons, Holiday Inns and Best Westerns are variable when it comes to bed comfort. And I've encountered some squeaky, less than comfy beds at the Westin, despite their claims to having great beds. If I could afford to stay at the Four Seasons or the other luxury hotels on a regular basis, I'd probably find that they have good beds, too. But since I usually can't, I book myself into a Marriott when I crave "big impersonal hotel comfort" for a night. I just got back from a few nights at the Renaissance Chancery Court in London and loved it.

In Paris, you could stay at the Renaissance Paris Vendome or the Marriott Champs-Elysees.
