Thanks, Sheila. What's the 'but'? Too difficult to reach? We're too old? While we're on the subject, is driving difficult on Crete for ladies of a certain age? I know, I know, I'm milking this thread for all it's worth. J.

Just wanted to add that My Brother Michael is also set in Greece. I read these books as a teen and have made a point of buying copies as I come across them (I'm sure they're out of print). The Moonspinners is still my favourite, but I love the opening scene in My Brother Michael where the heroine is offered the keys to a car and mistakenly answers "Ne" meaning no when of course she is saying yes. Takes me back to my early childhood - always thought "ne" should mean no.

Greetings! What is a scoosh? and p.s. Have you been to Amorgos Island? I was so inspired by the previous round of posts, that I spent two happy morning coffees image-searching to pick other great islands. Still interested in favorite Cretan villages, and tips on wonderful church frescos, as well. J.

Hi.
I'm not sure if this is helpful or not, I am a huger lover of this film and have been as equally interested in finding information about it. according to this website:
http://www.albionhousecrete.com/info...urroundin.html
the church in the film is the church of Panagia Kera in Kritsa, Crete, Greece. It is the only website I have found that can attest to this but the pictures of Panagia Kera look very similar to the church in the film so it very well may be the same one. I hope that this is helpful to those planning trips to crete.
Thanks!

I have just returned a few minutes ago from a three day visit to the Elunda area on Crete. While in Elunda, I inquired as to the building used for the "Moon-Spinners Hotel". Unfortunately, no one seemed to remember the film being made there. I am searching the net in an effort to determine the location of the building and its exact co-ordinates on Google Earth. If I succeed, I may return there again in just a few days. If not, then I'll try again next year when I return for my annual three month visit to Crete.
