Monaco - A different Aspect On Sixty Minutes
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/inside-...ch-60-minutes/
Lots of people enquire about Monaco here and the response is uniformly 'why waste your time there?"
But I have loved spending a few hours in Monaco just to see how the super-rich live. And the absurdly luxurious yachts - zillions of them - and the Changing of the Guard - Kind of a Mouse that Roared thing and the Royal Palace and, bien sur the ornate casino where you can replenish dwindling trip funds. Some areas don't demand fancy attire.
So all in all a brief sojourn to Monaco shows you a very different side of the French Riviera - trains are easy to get to Monaco from all along the coast. And if into beautiful- gorgeous walks take the littoral path along the undeveloped coast - getting away from glitz of Monaco and seeing a pristine seaside where cypress trees impossibly stand anchored between the large boulders tumbling down to a pristine azur-hued clear sea. There are swimming holes along the way. So a neat chance to see a bit of Monaco then this seaside trail a few miles to the Cap d'Ail train station.
For more on this path and coastal trains check www.budgeteuropetravel.com - their free and excellent online European Planing & Rail Guide that has a blurb on that Monaco- Cap d'Ail seaside walk as well as coastal trains.
