Mobile sim card in France

I will be arriving in France in September from South Africa and will need to get a French sim card for 3 weeks, included calls and internet usage. Can someone recommend the best option for me please.

I have an iphone and I am living in south Africa. It is too expensive to use my south African number there, so I will need to get a French sim card for approximately 20 days with calls and internet

There are prepaid services offered by SFR, Orange, and a number of other companies. There are also low cost sellers which piggyback on the networks of others and charge a great deal less. Expamples would be Lebara or Lycamobile, their SIMs are available at magazine stores or tabacs such as Relay.

Yes they are as they use the towers of one of the big 3 carriers especially for a short term stay. Due to eu regs today, they also allow roaming in other eu countries at very low rates although calls to places outsid the eu become very expensive once you leave France.

check the rates on those low cost sellers. I could be wrong (because things change all the time), but it seemed to me that while phone calls might be cheaper, data was quite expensive. So if you are looking for a data plan you might be better off with Orange (who offers nice low cost PAYG plans in a lot of countries)
