A wonderful area in County Clare. Near the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren. Also Doolin and the musical pubs are just up the road. It will be quiet at this time of year and a lot of places will be closed. Temps will be in the mid 40's and lows of mid 30's. Usually no snow. Visit the Irish Tourist Board at www.ireland.travel.ie for information. Also http://clare.local.ie/miltownmalbay/

For addtional travel information, check out www.irelandexpert.com or www.irelandyes.com for there recomendations

Was just out that way last week. Spanish Point is beautiful: me and the missus camped out right on the beach at a place called White Strand. Watched sunset on th sea, pounding surf, million of stars, etc.... perfect.

I do recommend a walk along the shore, in Spanish Point. The cliffs there are 20-30 feet high. Very scenic!!!!

The friendliest pub in MM is Hillery's. Very small place. The bartender was this old feller with a ponytail. Spent several pints yacking with him and some other regulars in thre. They have music on some nights, too.

Drop me a line if you want any more info, or visit my website: www.dfaguide.com

All the best!

Mick

We're going through this area too, and I'm wondering what is the quickest route from the ferry. It looks like it is out of the way to go through Kilkee. Any experience here?
