milan for new years

I have decided to go to Milan for New Year's so please do not try to discourage me. I have already made reservations. I would like some advice on fun things to do on New Year's Eve. I am young but I don't necessarily want a rave party. I would like some music, though. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you from Texas

I just gotta know! Why Milan. I'm not bashing it, but...

You must be on your way to somewhere else after the New Year.
I have an extensive itinerary from Dec. 26-Jan 4)and Milan is just part of it. We are doing some crazy day trips (we have a Europass Saverpass) and I have this thing about getting my money's worth. Our accomodations are going to be in Garmisch (my little brother is there) and we are staying in Garmisch almost every night but New Year's.
We will travel to Innsbruck and Salzburg on one day, then Zurich the next (or vice versa) and then it's the New Year's trip to Milan. Yes, we thought about Munich but that is basically our home base. We will travel home from Milan on New Year's Day and rest before we go and visit our friends in Heidelberg (actually we are going to stay with them on Jan 2nd) then on the 3rd we will come home and pack and get ready to come back to Texas on the 4th. I know it sounds crazy, and I realize that Milan is not typical Italy but Venice is the only other option and I heard the nightlife is not as good as Milan's and most of the hotels are booked. I can find fun anywhere; even in Milan. If you are curious about my whole itinerary, I will email it to you

JD

I would say, book your hotel in Milan as soon as you can. We were there a couple of months ago, and we wasted about 8 hours of a 2 day trip walking the streets trying to find somwhere to stay!

We are staying at the Hotel Antares Accademia. So we have the accomodations down, but I need to plan my evening. If you have any suggestions of fun things to do, I would really appreciate it. Thank you
