Well, a good reason to fly CDG to heathrow would be if this is the 1st leg of single ticket. If that is the case, if you skip CDG to Heathrow leg you may be considered a no-show and risk getting the London to LAX leg cancelled on you.
If the ANZ flight is a separate ticket, then it does make sense to fly from Milan to London and skip CDG all together.

Do NOT fly to Heathrow from Milan if your are ticketed to get on that flight in Paris. You could lose your seat.
If you can't cancel your Milan hotel reservation, I would pick the airport in Milan with the earliest flight to CDG that also has a subsequent flight you could catch if the first one is cancelled for some reason. If that's not possible, just take the earliest flight, but if your choices are between 2 flights that leave 5 minutes apart -- one from Linate and the other Malpensa, book out of Linate. If all else fails, you can catch a cab to Linate at half the cost taking half the time.
I'm a worst case scenario planner, even though things almost always go smoothly. But things can happen. Just today, were I trying to leave where I am in Italy, the airport is closed, and the two trains going north are not running due to bad weather.
So that's why I said I'd cancel that hotel stay in Milan and head to Paris much earlier.
