Michelin Green Guide and driving

Hi, Maybe I am missing something..?
After the advice of many I purchased the green guide for Provence. It has lots of info, but I was expecting more maps. Am I to assume that for driving around Provence that I will thus have to buy specific maps? There are many numbered maps referred to in the book - where do I see them? Any other driving maps are required?

It's good to buy the local map(s) of the area(s) you want to visit. You either buy the one for Provence-Côte d'Azur, orange map no. 527 1/275.000 or a few more detailed maps that are yellow, e.g. map no. 341 Alpes Maritime 1/150.000
A list of the yellow detailed maps can be found here: http://plansetguides.free.fr/guides/index.htm
You can also buy a not-so-detailed map that covers the south of France, this is map no. 725 France Sud (red) 1/1.000.000
Hope this helps.

The Green Guides are for sightseeing sights/sites, activities like markets, guide to museums, etc. You need the Michelin maps of the area you are travelling. They are excellent.

There is a green Michelin map that covers all of Provence. It's #113 on a scale 1/160,000. If you want the orange 300 series maps, you will need more than 2 maps if you want to visit the St Remy, Loberon, and Uzes areas. Three maps if you also want to travel to Aigues Mortes. The Yellow 200 series maps are no longer published.

I recently purchased some maps at

Ditto. Use the Green Guide for basic city maps, city info, and driving routes...but the michelin road map for the road details. Amazon sells some (all?) of their maps

You can also go to viamichelin.com for maps to almost any street corner in Europe, free on line. From there select hotels, restaurants, and tourist sights.

My Provence Green Guide has a map and three "touring programmes" along with a map of the principal sights right after the index.

I bought my Provence guide in the bookstore. If I get it elsewhere will I also get additional maps and the guide ofr the Cote d'Azur? Where can I get those items?

The Michelin green guides don't have actual driving maps, just general ones that show principal sights in relation to each other, along with possible itineraries. So you neeed the Michelin driving maps in addition, and those are available from amazon.com and other large book outlets. If you use the search function here you might be able to find several threads on maps and where to buy them.

I'd recommend getting the large-scale map for Provence and the supplemental one for the Côte d'Azur. You'll want both guidebooks, too.

You can also buy good scale maps from IGN. I have a number of them to supplement my Michelin maps.

Here is an example of a place that displays the maps upon clicking on a link. They have great details and come from the French Government.
