Has anyone toured Meteora? How did you do it and what would you recommed?

We spent several days in the Meteora area July of 1998. We traveled from Athens by public bus to Kalambaka. We stayed at the Hotel Edelweiss. We travled around the Meteora area by walking, taxi or pblic transportation. It was very easy to get around but a car would have been handy. It was very hot in July so be prepared if you are planning on going during the summer. It was a marvelous area and well worth a few days stay. There is no other place like it in Greece. You won't be disappointed. <BR>

I'm looking to go to Greece in May and would love to go to meteora. I really don't want to rent a car as I understand some of the areas of Greece is difficult to get around. <BR> <BR>Also, what did you pay at Hotel Edelweiss? Did you have a private bathroom? <BR> <BR>Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated!
