Meeting Place/ Barajas Airport

Half of my group arrive from Mx, Iberia Airlines (I checked and it said terminal 4S). ... We arrive from JFK Iberia airlines (also Terminal 4S) 4 hrs later and was looking at the airport website to find a place to meet, so far I think of Plaza Mayor cafe or Medas (from a posting here).

Any comments?

You have several good options in both T4 and T4S, but four hours is a long time to be hanging out around the airport.

Do you have any checked luggage and are you going to wait to clear customs before your friends arrive?

Is Madrid your final flight destination? If so, why not meet them at your hotel? At least half of your group will be relaxed after a brief rest.

You know what Robert2533? that is a good idea.

I can tell them to take a cab, however I would like to give them the option to wait for me at the airport.

A couple of weeks ago we met my son ( we were both flying Iberia with a difference of one hr in arrival time) in Medas restaurant. There is also an Ars restaurant.

But like Robert says ,4 hrs is a bit much so I would suggest meeting at the hotel.

I just spent the weekend greeting foreign exchange students at Barajas (terminals 1, 2, and 4), and I can tell you that though T4 is nice, it is not a good place to spend 4 tired hours. I think Robert has the right idea about them going directly to the hotel. That is easy for a cabbie (they definitely know the hotels in the city, though have the address handy), and will allow everyone to rest a bit.
