This summer we are going to Italy and I am checking out flights. Has anyone flown on an Alitalia MD11 to Europe? .....Thanks!

I've flown on an Alitalia MD11 eight times to Italy. They use the mixed passenger/cargo version (MD11M), which has only 204 seats (30 Magnifica and 174 Coach). These planes are generally well maintained and clean. I suggest reserving a good seat as soon as possible. Seat backs recline quite a bit, making the trip a bit more comfortable, but accordingly cutting down on knee room.

I fly a lot with Alitalia and many times on the MD11.<BR>No big thing. Just like anyone else.

Thanks for the information. Do these planes have individual tv screens? This is so nice to have for the kids.

Are you kidding! Individual TVs is not a forte of Alitalia!!!!!!!!!! Bring lots of comic books and crayons for the kids!!!!!!
