Mary Quant Paris

Anyone know if the Mary Quant shop on Rue Bonaparte is still there? It was just down the street from the hotel Bonaparte. Thanks!

I didn't know she still had a shop.
I wore her clothes in London in the 60s.

The one with the mosaic portrait of her on the facade? Another Fodorite mentioned it in a TR not long ago, but I can't remember who.

Sorry, I got it mixed up with someone/someplace else, and there's no mosaic on the store, but Google Maps still shows the store at 49 rue Bonaparte.

It was purchased by a Japanese company years ago, but they still have the shop in Kensington in London around the corner from Harrods but I'm not going to London this trip. I still use their lipsticks, but wanted to make sure it didn't go the way of Marks & Sparks a few years back!

If you look at the street view on Google Maps the store front is visible. I love that feature for scoping out future travels.

Not wanting to be too critical, but this is the kind of post that surprises me - it takes longer to ask the question on this forum than to type into Google - Mary Quant Paris, which will give you their web site, Paris address, etc.

Carlux,

I appreciate your comment, but I did precisely that. The problem is websites (and google maps) tend not to be updated every week or every month, and especially in this economy, what was here today is gone tomorrow.

I did check out the website -- there are two Mary Quant websites. The reason for my question is that the Japanese website that owns the company has only the London store as being open. The UK website remains the same website that has been around for years (10 years, to be exact).

I hope that explains the reason for my posting!

I also wore Mary Quant lipsticks in the 60s. Nice to know this company still exists. Thanks.

Not that anyone will care (at least I don't think!), but although the sign is still over the door, Mary Quant in now closed in Paris, wahhh!
