Does anyone know how far/how long it would take to go from the airport in Marseilles to St. Charles train station? I am scheduled to land at around 3:00 p.m. I am headed to Avignon and was wondering if I had enough time to pick up my ticket and get on the train if the train left around 4:30 p.m.? Any advice would be appreciated.

Heidi,<BR>The Marseilles-Marignane airport is located 26kms (16+miles) north of Marseilles most of which is by motorway and about a 20min drive under normal conditions. It's possible, but that depends on time needed to pick up your luggage,etc. I think you would definitely need to take a taxi in order to make it.

Well I'll be just bringing a carry on...I'm torn whether to just wait til I get there to get the ticket or just order 'em ahead of time. Any suggestions?

Heidi,<BR>Don't buy your ticket with seat reservations ahead of time. There are plenty of trains to Avignon after 4:30. It's no big deal. Worse thing that can happen, is arriving at a different stataion in Avignon. Personally, I would opt to arrive at the downtown location-i.e non TGV train. It's only approx a half hour trip.<BR>
