I found many, if not most, hotels and B&B's in Donegal are not open till April, except for the bigger towns like Letterkenny. A few are open weekends only. I booked a hotel in Killybegs called the Bay View, which is open year around. It was become increasingly difficult to find places open in early March in that area.

Ok Bill, you made me chuckle right back at you!!! But you just never know!! And you are right....Syv is better to book ahead. I didn't realize so many places would be closed. I have such memories of my first time, going around all of Ireland at breakneck speed... and we did it!! Hopefully, Syv, you'll be able to return to Ireland again.

You two give me a chuckle too
It's fun to read your comments.
Staying with friends, Omagh - March 9.
Reserved Paddy's Doolin Hostel, March 10.
Not having much luck with hostels around Clifden for March 11th. Some are supposed to be open March 1st on or year-round, but no online reservations, and no replies to emails.
Have been in contact with & making reservations with Drumcorroy House, Donegal March 12.
Will be staying with friends in Rasharkin March 13.
Other than that, for "in between" driving - we'll see what happens & I'll report back to you after our adventures!
