The place to stay in Mallorca, which was formerly owned by Richard Branson, is the La Residencia Hotel.

On the Costa del Sol, I suggest staying in the Taberna del Alabardero Resort which is a splendid place tucked up in the hills above Puerto Banus near Marbella.

Westin La Quinta is OK but really dominated by the golf course and out of the way. I'm regularly in Marbella and IMO there is no doubt that the best hotel is the Marbella Club, followed by Los Monteros. Marbella v Mallorca, I think Mallorca (such as La Residencia) will be much more romantic and quiet. Marbella has the nightlife, smart restaurants etc. Depends what you want.
