Maps, distances etc.

Will appreciate learning from all you, experienced travel planners, names of sites that have detailed maps for all European countries.
Thank you!

I always liked

www.mappy.com

this seemed to be more of a 'trip planner' site rather than actual maps, but then again, I may not have explored the whole site - the first thing that came up is, 'name your starting point and destination' and it gives you options to drive, with tolls, etc.

similar to mapquest I suppose..

www.yellowmap.com

I don't think they have detailed maps for all European countries, but they have Germany among others.

There are so many different reasons to want a map. A map for driving is obviously different than a map for sightseeing on foot in a big city.

One purpose that comes up, time and again is where to find good maps for scrapbooks, websites, or other "report" purposes. And one of the best is the Perry-Castañeda Library collection of the University of Texas at http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/index.html - - a must-bookmark site for all travel buffs.

Best wishes,

Rex

AA,

My suggestion would be "VisitEurope.com" It has everything you could want and if you want more, it gives you the contact information you need to get it. Happy planning.

It only cover the UK, but I find www.streetmap.co.uk to be best for this country.
