Manchester University

We are going to visit the university in October. Looking for a 3 or 4 star hotel or apartment/hotel near the school. Staying for 4 nights. 3 people. I looked up a few on trip advisor, found Arora International, Palace Hotel and Blue Rainbow Aparthotel. Thought I would see if anyone can recommend something.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Wow, that is quite a list!! Thank you. Can you narrow it down to your top 3?

Manchester University campus is split; there's a bit immediately south of the city cente, on the old UMIST site (the Sackville Street area), and there's a bit slightly further south, strung along Oxford Road and across to Upper Brook Street. The Palace, Jury's and Malmaison are all within walking distance of the former (the Malmaison and the Palace are slightly closer than Jury's); the Palace is well located for bus (very frequent) bus transport down to Oxford Road to the other part of the campus.

The most famous hotel in Manchester is the Midland. This is where Mr Rolls and Mr Royce met up and founded a car company.

the Arora International gets decent reviews on Tripadvisor, and is as well placed as the Malmaison or the Palace for the city centre part of the campus...

Location-wise, it would be hard to beat the Palace, being opposite Oxford Road station (frequent trains from the airport) and an easy walk from both the main university areas and the city centre. (NB: Google Maps locates it incorrectly!)
