Malpensa Airport

I will be flying into Milan in Oct and have heard conflicting reports about Malpensa. Have the baggage and delay problems been fixed. Also, I read about a new train station in Terminal one that goes to the city center in 40 min. Has anyone used this? Does it go to Centrale and can I use my Italian rail flexiipass on it. Thanks.

Flew into MXP last week...baggage delivery was quite quick. Easy to navigate the airport. As you may know, it opened only last year so there have been many kinks to work out. Looked to me like they were making good progress...Don't know about the trains, tho....

There's an express train service from Malpensa into Milano Cadorna train station. At present, the track to Milano Centrale makes a big detour. A subway tunnel crossing Milano is being build. When it'll be ready (a long time from now!) then one will have a true option. Right now, either you take a cab, a bus, or transfer to Gallarate to take a train into Centrale (30/40 min train ride with a direct train - not available at all times).

Paulo
We flew out of Malpensa recently, and we liked it very much. We took the train to the airport not from Centrale, but from a downtown location fairly near the Duomo. Go look on the Malpensa web site. It gives you all kinds of info- including train and bus schedules and a map of the terminal.

Just came back to Sydney via Malpensa yesterday. No problems with baggage or anything. There's an express (40 mins) train to Cadorna (near Duomo) and a bus (takes 50 mins) to Stazione Centrale. The train is free if you fly with Alitalia or KLM.
