Malaga visit Nov 2024??

Hello,

we are planning a trip to Andalusia for a week ... we expect to be in Malaga Nov 26-28

I have read some random feedback about risk of potential waterborne disease due to recent flooding . we are debating to avoid the trip this year

I would really appreciate your insight / advice / situation on ground regarding the visit to the area

Many thanks in advance for your response

Ii am in Spain now and from all I've heard things are pretty normal in Malaga. I heard nothing about disease. Where did you read that?

For a year we lived in a small town 30kms north of Malaga where we experienced very severe flooding similar to that in Malaga. There was severe disruption for a few days with roads and bridges washed out etc but I was amazed at how quickly the authorities dealt with everything. There were no problems with contaminated water or water borne illnesses at any time. Sometimes the press are less than rigorous in ascertaining the facts in such situations.
In the absence of hearing from anyone on the ground in Malaga, I would suggest checking out your own government's travel advisories or those of the Spanish authorities.

My brother was in Málaga at the time of the flooding. Only a few streets in the city had been affected and stores/market were closed for the day but the next day everything was back to normal. Water supply and electricity have never been disrupted. Totally different situation than in Valencia.
