I can't think of any reason why bus would be a particularly good way to go.

The train ride is LONG, but actually quite pleasant. Some CDS, a book and a nap will make it go by much more quickly, and some of the scenery, particularly as go get close to Granada, is quite spectacular. I don't think it's any cheaper than flying, tho.
