Madrid bullfighting
Hello,
I am going to Spain with some friends in mid-November and we were considering seeing the bullfighting at Las Ventas.
Perhaps it would be better to go earlier in the season. I am only in Madrid for two full days so I'm not sure if it's worth the time spent.
Your comments are appreciated.

I can't answer your question, but then, I'm not sure I understand it. You're going to be in Madrid for two full days and you're debating whether to the bull fight? I don't understand the 'earlier in the season' part (it could be just me).
I guess you have to decide if it's a big enough priority.
Be prepared for the onslaught of abuse here by the PETA, or nearly PETA people . I know that I would go if I had the oppurtunity.

Hi fryster
Bullfighting in Spain is, I believe, seasonal, and starts around march/April and finishes aroung September/October. Perhaps Maribel will have more information for you.
Bullfighting in Portugal is more humane as the Bull is not killed. It is more a display of Horsemanship and Skill than one of "kill or be killed".

Thanks for your responses.
Las Ventas is not in the centre of Madrid so I was not sure about going.
Car: Are you sure it stops in October? I've read in two guides that the Las Ventas still has the bullfighting on weekdays from November to February.
Thanks

You can checK in www.Las-ventas.com
it is in Spanish but it clearly says that season will end in October.
Last year in November there was a bullfight in Houston, Portuguese style.
