Madrid is a very large city with several interesting side trips. <BR>We went to Avila and Segovia. Avila is an old completly city and quite interesting. Segovia has a 2000 year old Roman aquaduct (stille in use) brining water to the city. Both worth a trip. <BR>

When we were in Madrid we regretted not having been there on a Sunday morning. Everybody says that going to the Rastro (the flea market) is a must. If you're into bull fights, going to one would also be a possibility. For further general tips on Madrid, refer to (excuse me the length of the web address ... charge it to Fodors
