MAD to Barcelona by train
Hi, I am needing a train from MAD in to Barcelona where I’m spending 2 days. Which train can I catch and where is the best place to get off and stay?

For which train to catch see the spanish RR site here Renfe

there are fast trains several times an hour all day long.

AVE trains are fast but not cheap
Get off in Barcelona at Sants , major train station.

Yes book early for sweet discounts on high-speed AVE trains at Renfe - buy ticket ton Barcelona Sants though commuter railways go from there to various stations in more central Barcelona. www.seat61.com has loads on doing your own reservations = general info trains also BETS-European Rail Experts and www.ricksteves.com.

AVE discounts
Discounts on the AVE will depend on the day of the week and how far in advance you purchase your ticket.
