Mad at Mappy

Well! When I go to mappy.com, it now opens with the United States as its default location. I have to find a little tiny link to change continents. I liked it much better when it opened in Europe, because that is what I use it for.

For the US, I have maps and driving directions on my iGoogle homepage.

I guess they changed it mappy.com for all US users. Do other users find it now opens to their home countries?

The new mappy.com has been annoying me as well! Thanks WillTravel for the excellent idea!

I have been mad at mappy too. I don't know why they changed it.

Yes, thanks, willtravel.

I'm glad I'm not alone. I too switched back to ViaMichelin, but I had been using mappy.com for quite awhile.

Willtravel and Bobtn: thansk very much.

I sent them an email telling them I don't like the new version and suggesting that they simply add US to the country list rather than adding 2 different continents and adding another step to the process. Maybe if more of us send emails to mappy they'll change back.

Did you notice on www.mappy.com they have European flags at the top right side of the homepage? There's flags for France, Germany Italy, etc.?

I was mad at them too because it had been my favorite "go to" site. I don't remember the flags being there about a month ago but maybe I missed them or perhaps, it's an enhancement??

The original version of Mappy appears to be at www.mappy.co.uk

They put up the flags when they changed the site. So clicking on the UK flag will bring up the original version.

Hi T,

Why not set www.mappy.co.uk as your default link to Mappy?

Actually, Mappy was created by and is a subsidiary of France Telecom. Its origin goes back to 1987 under the name Iti (for "itinéraire&quot on the old French Minitel network.
