Lyon - L'Institut or elsewhere for dinner?
My husband and I will be in Lyon for three days before heading out on a month-long road trip through Annecy, Provence, and the Loire Valley - ending with a few days in Paris. We're planning to splurge on dinners in Lyon and Paris (beginning and end of our adventure), while sticking to smaller and less expensive neighborhood eateries the rest of the time.
I've made a reservation for dinner at L'Institut in Lyon - thinking it would be a great way to experience the cuisine of Paul Bocuse - or at least that level of quality and presentation. Reviews are mostly good, but some posters have suggested there are better choices for the same kind of experience at the same price point in Lyon. I know there are other much more extravagant possibilities, but our budget determines that this is the high end of what we can afford.
Any suggestions or recommendations - or positive (or otherwise) reports from this restaurant?
