Luxury Hotels in Prague
Does anyone have additional info about the following hotels in Prague?

1) Four Seasons
2) Intercontinental

I am going to in September and would like to stay at one of these. Any inside information (which floors have the better views of the bridge and/or castle, better service, amenities etc).

Any advice would greatly be appreciated. I have read all of the other past posts - I was looking for more detailed info. Thanks.

THE INTERCONTINENTAL HAS A FABULOUS LOCATION OVERLOOKING THE WATER AND BRIDGE, BUT IT'S VERY AMERICAN CHAIN LIKE AND FOUND THE ROOMS VERY 1950ISH--DUNGEONY--DIDN.T CARE FOR THEM, BUT WEALTHY EUROPEANS TEND TO STAY THERE.

THE FOUR SEASONS IS BRAND NEW AND TOP OF THE LINE.

IF YOU WANT A LUXURY VERY EUROPEAN EXPERIENCE CHECK OUT PALACE PRAHA, ALTHOUGH NOT IN A LOCATION AS DESIREABLE AS INTERCONTINENTAL.
I've been to Prague several times and have always stayed at the Praha Palace hotel. I agree with the description of the Intercontinental, very stale in my opinion, having seen a friend's room last year. The service, rooms and drivers at the Praha Palace are fantastic. The location is great for getting anywhere by foot. A wonderful breakfast buffet is included in the room charge and is the best! I'm sure you wouldn't go wrong with a new Four Seasons....but I'll still stay at the Palace! Have a great trip!

Hello Dawn,
i stayed at the Prague Hilton, last years. Very, Very confortable & luxuous. It's where the state chief (president, 1st minister, etc) stayed during the famous sunmmit on international trade.(excuse my bad english! i'm from Québec). The Hilton is a little bit out of downtown & i personnally appreciate it because it's more peaceful. The subway is just 1 minutes walk and a lot of taxi with brand new Mercedes wait you at the door of the Hilton ( if you can afford it!).
I live in big & confortable bedroom in an indoor atrium with "view" on the 24 hour elegant café-bistro. The hotel is brand new and last august i consider obtaining a good price for the quality obtained.Résumé: top-top comfort, top class, super modern hotel, but ,too ,no old europe charm. The Praha palace look gorgeous(Art Nouveau), but it's an old hotel. I think the price is really, really high too. Personally, i prefer to have american comfort for a good night. And enjoying thïs beautiful city well rested! The inter-continental really don't impress me in Prague.
Dobriden!(Means Hello in check language)
We are going to Prague and Budapest in early october. My husband has us booked at the Savoy in Prague? Does anyone know of it? Would the Praha Palace be better? Also any suggestions about fun active day trips to take from Prague and or Budapest?
thanks

The Savoy is supposed to be very, very nice from what I've read, one of the best in town. I would not think Palace better, the only consideration would be the location. The Palace is centrally located and you can walk to a lot from there, but I don't find the immediate area that attractive. The Savoy is up on the hill near the Castle and not near any metro stop, I'm pretty sure. If you plan to take cabs a lot, I would not worry at all. I don't know which I'd pick myself, just know it would not be the Intercontinental or the Hilton. If I could choose more expensive, I would probably choose one near the Namesti Republicky metro stop as very convenient (new Marriott and Renaissance) or the old Czech-owned Hotel Pariz near there (it is gorgeous art deco and well-known and very good location, but I've heard rooms may not be as spiffy as the newer hotels you are talking about). I think the Savoy could be very nice, there is a tram near there; I wouldn't stay there if alone, but might well with someone.
