Lunch & view over Cote d'Azur?

We will be driving from the Alpilles to the Ligurian coast in mid July. I would like to stop somewhere along the way - preferably on the French side - to have lunch. I would like a view over the coast/sea. I was thinking about something in the hills somewhere in the area above Nice to Menton. I'm willing to make a short detour. Not looking for a five course meal - just a nice lunch with a beautiful view/atmosphere.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

kiminokie, this is Gourdon that was a few more restos with a view like the N'Aigle that's more upscale.

The easiest spot to stop would be Le Château de la Chèvre d'Or in Eze Village. It's perched high above the Mediterranean and has a spectacular view of the coast from west to east.

Sorry, I thought I posted the url that gives you the view. This place is inexpensive compared to the Nid Aigle and the Chevre D'Or

Thanks so much. Our trip is going to be fantastic because of all the tips I get from this board.

If anyone else has an idea, don't hesitate to offer it up.

It's indeed a gorgeous place, but not exactly a short detour--more like a couple of hours up and back from the autoroute, and no view of the sea. Or do I have the wrong place entirely, Mimi?

Another spot would be the port at St-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, where there are a number of restaurants and a lovely view out over the bay.
