Luggage

I have been reading many threads over the past 6-8 months preparring for a trip to Italy. In a thread, someone recommend a brand of luggage that starts with an "R".....It was a 22 in suitcase that had a backpack attached to it.....does anyone have any idea what I am talking about?
Thanks

No idea about the luggage starting with an R. I carry a suitcase made as you describe. It is manufactured by Western. Cheap, serviceable, and damned near indestructible (I have certainly not been gentle with it).

It was probably Rick Steves. He has a web site you buy his luggage on.

No, not Rick Steeves. Something like REA, REI...I actually went to the website months ago. Almost like a Lands End company but mostly luggage. I probably sound a bit odd right now...sorry.

Try looking around www.rei.com. I've not shopped there so I don't vouch for them, but they do advertise on my favorite classical music station.

Hi Mishka,

REI is an excellent co-op type outdoor rec equipment store. We have 2 in Utah and I spend quite a few $$ there. Their people are extremely helpful and really know their stuff.

I have an Eagle Creek rolling 21" that has a zip off day pack. The whole suitcase can also convert to a backpack if needed. It's been on 2 Europe trips so far and I love it. Going on trip #3 tomorrow.

Happy luggage hunting.
