We're going to be in Lucern for two nights (Friday and Saturday) next month. Are there any weekend deals around in the better hotels?Of course, we would love to be on the lake.

Although I have not stayed there yet, and it is not IN Lucerne itself, I have been very impressed with the communication I have received from Hotel Albana in Weggis (on the other side of Lake Lucerne). I am staying there next week. I'll be back September 12, though that is probably too late for a report to help you.

I have PREVIOUSLY stayed at Hotel Schweizerhof which is possibly the premier location in Lucerne (at a very premium price). Worth it? so-so. Bargains? I doubt it.

Best wishes,

I don`t know about weekend deals, but my wife and I stayed at des Alpes in June and had a good experience. Yes, the location is terrific. We had a room with patio overlooking the roofs of the Alt Stadt for 190 Sfr., inc. breakfast, taxes, etc. We were originally booked at the Tourist Hotel(134 Sfr.), but moved out after 1 night because of the noise.

Good evening, Judy Have used the Hotel WILDEN MAN, Bahnhofstrasse, 30.
it is a four hotel with 43 rooms, located
just across the river from Luzerns old
town and about 5 to 8 mins from the Bahnhof. We have used this hotel a number of times since 1983, it is a
very old hotel beleive going back to
the 1300 or 1500's It has an excellant
formal ristorante and also the Stubi
(Grill) see
Rex, ran across the web site for the
ALBANA, looked great and had a number
of different priced packages and its
location on Lake Lucerne and also their
is a little casino in the Posthotel
at the docks in Weggis. Put your
remarks about the Albana on the BB.
Sure others including myself would like
to hear your comments.
