Louvre Tickets On Line Purchase

I just checked the Louvre website and if you buy advance tix on the web, it says:

"Buy your ticket ahead of time and avoid the lines in front of the Pyramid and at the ticket windows."

Are they referring to AVOIDING ALL lines like the Museum Pass allows you?

Two tix with fees/postage come to $35...not a bad deal if it avoids ALL lines.

I would not bother with that. We just got back a couple weeks ago and entered through the Rue de Rivoli/Carousel entrance, went down the first escalator, turned right and there is a small storefront where we purchased our museum pass with no lines at all.

You really don't need tickets in advance, as there are so many entrances now.

If you see lines, such as at the Pyramid, they're for security, not ticket sales.

there are so many posts on this site about avoiding the lines at the Louvre...isnt this a priority to get Museum Pass or advance tix to get around the lines????

I'm not sure what you are looking for. It almost seems as if you are wanting someone to tell you that you need to either get the museum pass or buy advanced tickets. The previous two posters both gave you good advice about their personal experiences.

For the Louvre I wouldn't say you need an advance ticket either. If you are going at any other time than near the opening of the museum or near closing, I would avoid the Pyramid entrance. That being said there are still about five other entrances as djkbooks said.
