Louvre late hours

We're arriving in Paris on a Wednesday morning. Planned to walk around and head to the Louvre between 3pm and 9pm when it's half-price (planning another "museum day" with the Carte Musee later on for other museums.) However, we're mainly interested in the Egyptian and Greek collections. Are these wings closed after 3pm on Wed? Because if they are, we'll visit the Louvre another day.
Thanks in advance.
michele:

we were there on a wednesday, and the only thing that was closed was a small wing of the greek/etruscan section. it is still most definitely worth going to on a wednesday evening as there is less (although still large) of a crowd. egyptian things were open, as were everything else.

it is also neat to see the works at night, as there is an ominous feel to being inside such a huge palace...

daniel

ps get the museum pass...don't waste your time in the long line--it's crazy.
Thanks for your help. I've decided to go ahead and purchase 3 day passes so we can pop into museums as we come upon them or return to a museum later if we don't get to see all of it.

Linda,
Check the website www.intermusees.com
You'll find a listing of all the museums and monuments that honor the pass, instructions on how to secure the pass. If planning on purchasing one, pick one of the smallest museums (the Balzac home is a good one) where there are few crowds and you can purchase with little or no delay.
ttha.ste
